Hello guys! What's up! Been a while since my last post, however I tried to update my blog once a week at least. If you checked around my blog, you will find out there is an advertisement banner from google as well. I tried to earn some as well so please bare with me okay, Don't use ad blocker. It's not necessarily need to be seen all the time however I am working on the impression. So bare with me!
I just watched logan last Sunday. Well if you haven't watched it, you should try to watch it before reading this but I will try not to spoiler it so much. Well it took place where mutants are no longer born and their kind is almost extinguished. So the first 30 minutes will be focusing on Logan and Charles xavier. Well they all look old in this movie, I almost couldn't believe it's been so long since I first watched X-Men. I've been a fan of wolverine character since I was in primary school. I played marvel vs capcom and I always choose wolverine as my favorite.
Why I like wolverine so much? I love how independent he is, he hunts, he leads and more importantly he protects. He chose to leave all of it and took no part in the community. He chose to become a limo driver to save up enough money to live out of the community. He took care Caliban and the old and sick professor Xavier. Logan prefers to live that way as usual. If we went back to the beginning where he became the Wolverine, he never settled by living together in a community because he never believed that it will be safer that way. He moved around however when the X-men path tailed him again, he will be gladly helped the community.
Logan was once kind of a hero, the kind of a good guy who went for adventures. Now he's a myth, a shell of himself and a drifter without purpose. The wolverine in this movie exists in the page of comics book since logan struggles to retain that heroism again. On the other hand his clone X-24, it is a perfect clone of the great Wolverine and a dark mirror for the current logan. He is what Logan would become if he cast out his humanity and became a bloody killer which is the reason why he was built for.
I was saying like in this movie, we will see a gut wrenching farewell to the two favorable characters in the comic books. Their relationship between Xavier and Wolverine has always been different, It sort of similar to a father and a son which we can call a family. Xavier long to have a family again, where he can settle himself once again however fate doesn't seem like it. It was saddening when I saw Logan's clone just brutally murder him in his bed and I think he's ready for it. The time has finally caught him off guard now. Logan has been with him for years since the death of X-Men and slow extinction of all the mutants in the world. If you look at it again, Logan is tired and he even carry the adamantium bullet to remind him of his past.
We will see Laura or the experiment made child who made from the DNA of Logan himself. She's traumatic and abused for as long as she's been alive. She's forced to kill to survive without the guidance of a figure like Xavier. She's built for combat actually and there are more like her. At some points we will realize that Xavier has been communicating with them and tell they're going to be alright. He was not like he used to, now his powers only bring pain to him and that's the reason that he's now outside the community.
For Wolverine, Laura is a daughter, the next generation of children and the next generation of Mutants of X-Men. By sacrificing himself to get them to their safety and fight the battle he's certain that he'll loose and he is actually giving the chance to someone else to win the battle he can't win. At the end of the day he's not letting any rage, pain and regret to define her existence. He fought unconditionally, bravely as what Charles Xavier told him to protect her.
Honestly I am still haunted by the movie, the story and the ending seem absolutely vicious and it keeps me playing the movie all over again inside my head. On my opinion X-Men movies invested so much time into these characters and every moment of Logan feels heavily earned and meaningful. He exceeded all of my expectation on this one, It is a very great movie and bittersweet at the same time. This is how a hero should end, no matter how hard the journey he's taken or the mistakes he made or the things that they regretted, there will still a way to move forward. There might be wounds that refused to heal, there will still a way to make the life better for someone who might need it.
It's my first time reviewing a movie on my blog. Hope you guys like how I bring it into a word. Until then stay tuned for my next post!
Cheers!
