Hello guys, as you know that now I am working in Sudirman area which is super traffic jam (Macet) and trouble some as well (Even & Odd policy, Ganjil genap). From the time I am writing this post, it marked 1 month already working in Sudirman area. You can google what is Sudirman area since I can make it short here. Sudirman is the busiest area in the heart of Jakarta or you can say this is the business district area including kuningan, gatot subroto, wahid hasyim and senayan. This area is famous for the most traffic jam area during business hour, and the riots (Demo- It doesn't happen in all area that I mentioned just sometimes around monas or Senayan). I drove for a few weeks I guess until I realize this won't work out since I will need to avoid the even & odd policy. My car plate is an odd number so I will not be able to pass the sudirman area during the specific hours (7am-10am & 4pm-8pm). Well it was troublesome and very troublesome. What can I do the government is trying to reduce the traffic jam by reducing the number of cars during the peak hour.
So I was trying to find out which way that is the most efficient for me to go and back from work. Well I failed since every way that I took back then always ended up me spending around 1,5- 2 hours on the way back. for me it is not about the trip to the office however it is about the trip back home from the office. Lol.
I will usually spend my trip to the office around 30-40 mins at least can be faster and depending on how I drive, however it will multiply to 2 hours if I want to go back home from the office. So I was thinking maybe there is an alternative that I can use to go to the office and back home. So I try Bus Transjakarta / Busway then. So I am taking uber/gojek from home to the station/halte and from there I can take the bus.
I remembered taking this bus for the first time during my highschool with my friends (Late simon, montok, and gede). we were out to cilandak town square which that was my first time to go out with my friend outside my comfort zone (Pluit, puri, lippo karawaci). That day was different, since the bus now is different as well from back then. I remembered correctly it was a china-made bus. The bus now is Scania brand which a top brand for buses.
My opinion taking busway here are merely about time costing that you will spend along the way. If i am not mistaken I will spend at least 2,5 hrs a day If I drive but here I will spend around less than 2 hours which much faster and convenient. Why I would say it's convenient? It's because I won't need to feel tired on my feet eyes and emotion. Driving might be tiring you know especially in Jakarta. Just try driving here and you will know.
So If you haven't tried riding one, you should try it and you can save more as well by taking this bus. The bus will cost IDR 3500 per ride and you won't be charged again unless you go out from the station / halte. You can go anywhere by paying as low as IDR 3500. Since the new governor you can actually pay it by using any of your cards, oh yeah it's free for KJP holder too. Convenient right?
*Some suggestion that you may save more by going earlier with Transjakarta/busway. They have this special price for those who are taking the bus before 7am. I think the bus is already available by 4 or 5am in the morning. So you can save IDR 1500 more. If you're working 5 days in a week, you might save up to IDR 33,000 per trip and IDR 66,000 for return trip. Nice right compare with driving.
For me I usually spend IDR 350,000 per week for my petrol, IDR 160,000 for my toll fare and IDR 250,000 for my parking fees, it's kinda totally different with the cost I am spending now with uber/gojek plus bus. I usually spend IDR 235,000 per week now. I am taking the bus for a week at the moment so I feel the gap of my spending already.
For traveler, it is easy to actually take this bus to go anywhere since you might find the map everywhere in the station. Well my suggestion is just read the map first and find out where are you going next then look for the end trip of the bus. For example if you are from the south like gatot subroto and you want to go to central park, you can check the map then look for grogol as the end trip of the bus and you can take that bus then to go to central park.
Anyway thanks for reading, sorry for the bad writing of mine. I am just trying to occupy myself :D
Cheers!
